Drive from Shimla / Manali to Kalpa / Sarahan

Depart early morning through pine valleys along the Sutlej river stream. Check into authentic mountain hotel with views of Kinnaur Kailash peak. Evening orientation and group briefing.

Kalpa to Nako & Tabo Monastery

Enter the Spiti Valley river confluence at Khab. Visit 1000-year-old Tabo Monastery, known as the Ajanta of the Himalayas, and serene Nako Lake.

Tabo to Dhankar Monastery & Kaza

Drive up to Dhankar Monastery perched cliffside above Spiti-Pin river confluence. Arrive at Kaza, the main headquarters of Spiti Valley. Explore Kaza local market.

Day 4

Key Monastery, Kibber, Chicham Bridge & Hikkim

Visit iconic Key Monastery perched high on a conical hill. Drive across Asia's highest suspension bridge at Chicham. Send postcards home from Hikkim (World's Highest Post Office at 14,567 ft) and visit Komic village.

Kaza to Losar & Chandratal Lake Camping

Cross Kunzum Pass (15,060 ft) to reach the sacred turquoise Chandratal (Moon Lake). Short 2km trek to the lake shoreline. Enjoy evening bonfire and stargazing from luxury swiss tents.

Chandratal Lake to Atal Tunnel & Manali
